From the south leave the M6 at junction 36 for Kendal and the Lakes, continuing to Ambleside.

From the north leave the M6 at junction 40 at Penrith proceeding via the Keswick road as far as Threlkeld.

Here take the B5322 road, which joins the A591 as far as Ambleside. From Ambleside take the B5343 to the Langdales.

After passing by Elterwater and through the village of Chapel Stile we are a further two miles on the right just before the New Dungeon Ghyll.
